Key Precautions for Operating a Shearing Machine
1. Before performing a no-load test run, manually cycle the machine through one full operating stroke to ensure everything is functioning correctly before starting the equipment.
2. For machines equipped with hydraulic systems, verify that the oil reservoir is sufficiently filled. After starting the oil pump, check valves and pipelines for leaks and ensure the pressure meets specifications. Open the air bleed valve to purge air from the system.
Precautions During Operation:
1. Do not shear stacked sheets; do not trim the edges of rough-edged sheets; and do not shear narrow strips or short pieces that cannot be securely clamped.
2. Adjust the clearance between the shear blades according to the sheet thickness, ensuring it does not exceed 1/30 of the sheet thickness. Secure the blades firmly and ensure the upper and lower blade faces remain parallel; after adjustment, perform a manual test cycle to prevent accidents.
3. Keep the shear blades sharp; replace them promptly if the cutting edges become dull or chipped.
4. During shearing, the hold-down mechanism must firmly clamp the sheet; do not proceed with shearing if the sheet is not securely held.
5. For machines with hydraulic systems, do not alter the settings of any hydraulic valves—except for the throttle valve—without authorization.
